Arlington Park is one of the most vibrant and welcoming communities you’ll find here in Sarasota. If you’re looking for a community that blends classic Florida charm with modern convenience and a wide variety of homes it might be a great fit for you!
Here are 3 reasons to LOVE Arlington Park and 1 reason it may not be for you. How do we know these inside secrets? We (Christine Pope and Paul Pope) have lived right here in Arlington Park since 2016.
#3: The Amenities
Arlington Park neighborhood is anchored by the 36-acre Arlington Park & Aquatic Complex, which features:
- Two swimming pools
- Tennis and basketball courts
- Walking and jogging trails that meander around this picturesque pond
- A dog park
- Adult fitness structure
- A playground (and it’s fenced, so you can let the kids run wild, but not wild enough to make it out into the street!)
You might be wondering what the HOA fees are here because you have easy access to all these amenities. Other neighborhoods might charge three or four hundred dollars a month for something like this. Not here. The Park itself is city owned, it’s open to everyone, and there are no HOA fees. It’s a great way to stay fit, spend time outdoors, and meet some neighbors! Oh, and by the way, you’re also just a two minute bike ride to The Legacy Trail with miles and miles of paved trails to explore.
#2 Variety of Homes
We absolutely love strolling through Arlington Park. There’s a special joy in walking through a neighborhood where every home is uniquely charming. From cozy bungalows to sleek modern designs, each house tells its own story, creating an exciting sense of discovery.
In recent years, builders have torn down some of the older homes that had been in disrepair and have reimagined the space with larger, stately homes. So whether you’re looking for a simple, charming, older home with tons of character, or a sleek modern home, or something in between, you’re likely to find it here. Here you can discover homes built in every decade from the 1920s on through today.
And, as a sidenote, there are some incredibly charming homes here available to rent on a weekly basis. The city allows weekly rentals in this neighborhood, and some homeowners have used their creative juices to offer unique stays. This is arguably the best neighborhood in Sarasota to find an Airbnb that’ll make you feel like a local.
#1 Location
Here in Arlington Park, you’re less than two miles from downtown Sarasota with its unique shops, performing arts centers, delectable restaurants.
You’re just a few blocks from Sarasota Memorial Hospital which is consistently rated among the top hospitals in the nation.
You’re about a 15-minute walk to Southside Village. You’ll often see neighbors walking to the village for dinner at Libby’s or Veronica’s or to pick up a treat from Morton’s Gourmet Market.
And the best part is, you’re only about 4 miles away from the world-renowned Siesta Key beach, known for its powdery white soft sand consistently rated one of the best beaches in America. You’re also just 4 miles from St. Armand’s Circle and Lido Key.
Those are your 3 top reasons to choose Arlington Park for your next home. We don’t just recommend it, we put our money where our mouth is. We live in Arlington Park and have been a full time residents here since 2016. It is truly an unbeatable place to live.
1 Reason it may not be for you: Helicopters.
Remember the part about being a few blocks from Sarasota Memorial Hospital? Well, along with that convenience comes the occasional helicopter landing on the roof of the hospital. While this can sometimes be disruptive, we’re mindful that these flights are bringing patients in need of urgent medical attention. We have great respect and gratitude for the medical teams and first responders whose dedication and quick action make a real difference in critical moments. The brief helicopter noise is a small price to pay compared to the life-saving work happening just next door. It’s also a reminder to us that every day is a gift.
