Where’s Arlington Park?
Arlington Park, an area of about 1,400 homes in Sarasota, is bordered by Tamiami, Bahia Vista, Tuttle and Webber (imagine a big square just southeast of downtown Sarasota). It’s close to Sarasota Memorial Hospital, almost smack in between Lido Key and Siesta Key as far as distance goes (about 2 or 3 miles to each island). It’s located within the city limits of the City of Sarasota and about 2 miles from Downtown Sarasota. The Legacy Trail runs very close to Arlington Park, making it easy to walk or bicycle all the way south to Venice and beyond.
New Homes Going Up, Older Homes Being Renovated
This ideal spot has been undergoing big changes over the past few years, with much more to come. A few years ago, builders started eyeing Arlington Park, prime with potential. Most of the homes were built between about 1940-1960 so about half were great candidates for renovation and quite a few were ready for a whole new beginning. Builders came in, bought up the tear-downs one by one and started building big, spacious new homes in their place. 192 of them between 2018 and 2024 to be exact. These newer homes look amazing with their professional landscaping and beautiful curb appeal. And the inside? Just as appealing with their high ceilings, quality finishes, and open floorplans.
And those older homes ready for renovation? Done! Well, most of them anyway. There’s a charming mix of nicely renovated older homes, modern newer homes and few diamonds in the rough (fewer every day!).
Prices in Arlington Park vary widely. Older homes are selling for between $400,000 to $900,000 while newer homes start around $900,000 and go as high as $3.5M.
Amenities, without the HOA fees
Did I mention the city-owned Arlington Park itself? It’s a beautiful place to take a stroll. A paved walking trail meanders around the pond, over a bridge and alongside the dog park, pool and playground where you can always say hello to friendly neighbors and their four-legged companions.
