If you like the master-planned design of Lakewood Ranch but want to be closer to the beach, Palmer Ranch may be your answer.
15 minutes or less to the beach: On over 10,000 acres located on the south end of Sarasota, Palmer Ranch is loosely bordered by Clark Road to the north, Honore Avenue to the east, South Tamiami Trail to the west and Osprey/Nokomis toward the south. That puts the community within about 15 minutes of Siesta Key, Casey Key and Nokomis Beach. Since it's south of the Sarasota Downtown and University Town Center area, traffic is a bit lighter.
Plenty of golfing: The Palmer Ranch area is home to 3 very prominent gated golf course communities. Stoneybrook Golf and Country Club is another gated golfing community inside Palmer Ranch and has is an 18-hole, 72 par Arthur Hills designed course.
Recreation: Many of the Palmer Ranch neighborhoods have their own trails and all have sidewalks. In the center of Palmer Ranch is the “Legacy Trail”. This is a former railroad track that has been redeveloped into a paved walking/bike path starting near downtown Sarasota and running through Palmer Ranch down into Venice with several bridges that go over the Intracoastal Waterway and inlets for great views. The nearby YMCA has all the amenities standard for a Y PLUS an extensive waterpark.
Close to Conveniences: Westfield Mall, Publix, and just about anything you could possibly need are within few minutes of any neighborhood in Palmer Ranch, so you'll never have to travel far to get what you need. A new Publix opened at the corner of Honore and Central Sarasota Parkway in 2023.
