Venice, Osprey and Nokomis

Venice, Osprey and Nokomis, Florida are just south of the heart of Sarasota and are nestled on a fairly narrow strip of land between I-75 and the Gulf of Mexico. 

What most find attractive about the Venice, Osprey and Nokomis area is the slightly more relaxed lifestyle (versus Sarasota) less traffic, and a little more house for the money. 

Venice, Florida is both a city and an island. Known for it’s quaint downtown strip with boutique shops, mom-and-pop restaurants and the Centennial Park, it’s surprisingly walkable. On the north west side of the island of Venice you’ll find the South Jetty where you can watch boats coming into the channel and stay for phenomenal sunsets. 

On the island of Venice you’ll find an interesting mix mid-rise condos, villas, and single-family homes with most of the homes being a few blocks from the beach rather than direct beach access. 

Osprey and Nokomis are just lightly north of Venice, in fact, you may not realize you’ve wandered into them. Both are highly desirable areas for their proximity to Nokomis Beach and Venice Beach yet easy access to the interstate. Osprey and Nokomis are on the mainland, making them a more affordable option than being on one of the nearby islands of Casey Key or the island of Venice. It’s also an easy drive to world-famous Siesta Key.
