I first learned about River Strand when both my mom and my sister both bought places here in the same year. One bought a condo and the other a villa, and both raved about the resort-style pool. It didn’t take me long to join them for a “pool day” and I was hooked, too.
The pool is one of the best I’ve seen in the area, with a tiki bar, a mini-beach (complete with hammocks!), a spa, a lazy river, well manicured palm trees, umbrellas and chaise lounge chairs. You truly do feel like you’re at a five-star resort hotel. Steps from the pool you’ve got access to the fitness center, clubhouse, tennis courts and the driving range. And did I mention the 3 Arthur Hill-designed golf courses? There’s plenty here to keep you and your guests entertained.
Aside from the pool and clubhouse area, there are several smaller pools throughout the community, so just about anywhere you live in River Strand, you’re within walking distance of a great spot to take a dip or just relax poolside.
River Strand offers everything from condos to villas to coach homes and manor homes so there’s something for every budget. The community is maintenance free and is impeccably landscaped, with several ponds and lakes adding to the beauty of the grounds.
For those considering buying a home and renting it out while you’re away, association rules allow you to rent for a minimum of one month at a time up to 12 times per year, unlike other nearby communities which require 3 months or more minimum. Even better, it’s just off I-75 and SR-64 so It’s easy to hop on the expressway and get to the Tampa airport, or zip across 64 and be at the beautiful beaches of Anna Maria Island in about 30 minutes or less.
